The K-pop appeared in the 1990s in the form of subculture. Earlier K-pop get influence from western dance music, hip-hop, R&B and rock. Today K-pop known by its melodic quality and cultural hybridity.
As we see K-pop is a colloquial term for its popular music from country, the K-POP not only describe as some musical term or music by singer it is describe as “IDOL MUSIC” made by artist which are trained hard by entertainment company to pop music stars.
Like this in K-POP industry there are two legendary group “SEO TAIJI AND BOYS AND BTS” represents two distinct eras of K-POP. Their contribution to the genre is significant.
SEO TAIJI’S MUSICAL REVOLUTION: A LOOK BACK AT HIS INFLUENTIAL CHARACTER
Seo Taiji [서태지]is not only K-pop idol but referred as ‘PRESIDENT OF CULTURE’. “Seo Taiji and the boys” the group credited with groundbreaking modern K-pop in the 1990s.

After some hardship arises with group later, started solo career. Work introduced new style of music that combined hip-hop, rock, and pop also addressing with societal concerns of the youth, including the stressful system of education in Korea, as well as the rage of youth in the face of poor social and economic outlook which laid inspiration for other groups to explore similar themes in their work.

BTS’s journey to global star was not an overnight success, but rather the result of overcoming immense challenges, including plagiarism allegation, financial struggles, and efforts to establish their reputation across different demographics.
Despite the challenges, they preserved to achieve their dream, putting in countless hours of hard work and training to deliver outstanding performances for their devoted “ARMY”.
However, behind any success story, there are always those who are jealous and seek to bring others down, and BTS is no exception, having faced criticism and negativity from haters in Korean term they know as ‘SASAENGS’. But army are always there for BTS, just like every family is during tough times, and save them from SASAENGS.
SO, EVERYONE HAS QUESTIONED WHO ARE SASAENGS?
SASAENGS[사생] refers to obsessive intrusive fans in KPOP.
As if we distinguished them with character.
a. Invasion of personal space
b. Disregard for boundaries
c. Obsessive behavior
But because of this type of behaviour, SASAENGS have a very dangerous impact on idols’ health like:
a) Causes stress and anxiety to idols affecting their mental and physical health.
b) Their concerts and personal safety are severely impacted by extreme threats, leaving them unable to live freely or enjoy their personal time.
BTS encountered SASAENGS and discussed the issues they faced due to the negative impact of SASAENGS on their lives, but ARMY’s ultimately succeeded by maintaining a positive and respectful behaviour and distancing themselves from SASAENGS behaviour.
Also, we get to know that an IDIOL’S life isn’t as easy as they make it seem, as they hide their dark struggles behind their smile, so before judging them, we should think about the sacrifices they make for us.
At the end, artist such as SEO TAIJI and BTS have played a significant role in shaping the evolution of K-POP, with SEO TAIJI laying the groundwork and BTS expanding on it to achieve global success. Not only represents the sustainability of K-POP’S evolution but also showcase the mutual respect and recognition between two generation of artist.
